Returning Students
ELOP eligibility is reviewed on an annual basis. All families must re-enroll in the program each school year. If your child meets eligibility criteria, they will be invited to enroll in ELOP听in April of 2025. Please watch for an email titled ELOP Commitment Survey from elop@iusd.org.

New Enrollment
Qualifying families will be invited to participate once enrollment is complete in August 2025.

If you believe your student is eligible for ELOP and you have not been invited to participate in the program, please contact us after August 2025 and the enrollment has been completed.

What is the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP)?
The Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELOP) has begun in IUSD.听 鈥淓xpanded learning鈥� means after school, summer, or intersession learning programs that focus on developing the academic, social, emotional, and physical needs and interests of pupils through hands-on, engaging learning experiences. This program is intended to support qualified PK-6th grade students with free after school, inner session, and summer programs for a minimum of 9 hours of care each day (which includes the full instructional day).听 To qualify for ELOP, the student must be part of our Unduplicated Count which includes:听 Free and Reduced Meal Program; Foster Youth/Homeless;听 English Learners. (English Learners must be K-6. 听PK is exempt from the ELPAC per .)

What does it mean for IUSD?
IUSD听offers听in-person after school expanded learning opportunities at each of our 29 elementary and PK-8 好色先生tv. All PK-6 students who qualify will be offered these opportunities for the 180 days that students are in session and at least 30 non-instructional days outside of their regular school year free of cost. This program is intended to support students for a total of 9 hours inclusive of the school day.听 More detailed program information and hours of support will be provided by your local school site.听

How will it be implemented?听
On IUSD鈥檚 180 instructional days, we must provide in-person after school expanded learning opportunities that when added to daily instructional minutes are no less than 9 hours of combined instructional time and expanded learning opportunities per instructional day:

Core Instructional Day (includes recess/lunch) 听 +听 听Expanded Learning (after school) = 听听9 HOURS

For at least 30 non-instructional days, during intersessional periods, no less than 9 hours of in-person expanded learning opportunities per day. We will provide ELOP services after school (not before) for the minimum of 9 hours total using IUSD facilities.
